Huawei Has Shipped 10 Million P9 and P9 Plus Units

Huawei definitely struck gold with their dual camera equipped smartphones, the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Both devices from the Chinese brand offered a good mix of flagship level specifications and performance plus a relatively affordable price tag considering its competition in the market. What definitely put the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus over was their collaboration with Leica; the rumors alone were enough to send tidal waves of hype on a global scale. It paid off and, now, the Chinese brand has revealed just how many units of their prized devices they’ve shipped across the globe.

In a press release by Huawei Consumer Business Group, they announced that they have shipped over 10 million units of the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus; a milestone for the company as it is the first flagship series phone to breach the 10 million mark. The Chinese brand was also quick to share their growth, having shipped 33.59 million smartphones in the third quarter of the year; a 23% growth compared to what the company was doing in the same quarter of 2015.  The substantial amount of shipments has also seen Huawei market share rise above 15% in 30 countries and above 20% in 20 countries, while gaining a foothold in key markets like: Germany, France, and the UK.

We’re pretty excited to see what they have in store for the coming year and, hey, we’re already seeing some leaks with the unintentional outing of the Huawei GR5 2017 and the follow up to the successful P9 and P9 Plus, the P10.
