Motorola, is that you?
When the Mate 20 series launched last year, Huawei’s flagship phablet stood out for its square-shaped camera module. While Google’s Pixel 4 and Apple’s iPhone 11 are rumored to adopt this design, Huawei will move on and use a circular design—similar to the camera module found in most Motorola phones, particularly the G and Z series.
In what appears to be a prototype panel (hence the transparent design), you have the same branding placement used on Huawei’s P20 and P30 series. There’s a large circular cutout on the top portion of the panel for the camera module. This is different from the leaked renders we saw a few weeks back.
Huawei has been quiet about the possible design of the Mate 30, so this prototype panel is possibly one of the many designs Huawei is considering. Rumored specs for the Pro version include a Kirin 985 processor, Balong 5000 5G Modem, 4200mAh battery with 55w fast charging, 6.71-inch AMOLED display with a 90hz refresh rate, and quad-rear camera setup with 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom.
