What’s up with that third camera?
Huawei is set to launch the P20 family of devices near the end of this month, and as is tradition with any important flagship launch by a multinational company, leaks and promo materials have started trickling out. The latest official-looking promo images show off the rear and front of the upcoming phone.
The teaser photos are accompanied by the tagline “See mooore with AI”, which as the images suggest, hint at a triple camera setup for at least one of the P20’s that will be launched. The photos also show a notch on the top of the display, and while that’s not entirely original, it is the smallest notch we’ve seen so far on a phone.
The promo photos also clearly show that the third sensor is clearly isolated from the traditional dual camera, which makes us wonder what its function is. Super zoom? Better bokeh? Your guess is as good as ours.
The Huawei P20 family will be revealed at the end of the month in Paris, France.
