iPhone X Bags Highest DxOMark Score for Stills

Scoring a point over a 100

DxOMark has finally tested the imaging capabilities of the iPhone X, and the results are very impressive: For stills, the iPhone X scored 101—a point higher than what the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro got for stills.

In DxOMark’s test summary, they praised the iPhone X for its accurate color rendering, fine detail with minimal noise. In addition, DxOMark noted that the iPhone X produces stellar HDR images, and cited that the iPhone X has an improved zoom performance over the iPhone 8 Plus (which scored on 96 stills) and a natural bokeh effect when using Portrait Mode.

When it comes to video, the iPhone X scored 89, which is considerably low when compared to the Mate 10 Pro (which scored 91) and the Google Pixel 2 (which scored 96), but better compared to the Galaxy Note 8 (which scored 84). DxOMark explains that the iPhone X’s video performance is the same with the iPhone 8 Plus, citing its strength in autofocus, image stabilization, and accurate color rendering.

Overall, the iPhone X scored 97, which places it on par with the Mate 10 Pro’s overall score, and is a point behind the Google Pixel 2, the current DxOMark leader for the overall score. You can head over here to read DxOMark’s detailed report on the iPhone X.
