It’s Officially Opposite Day: Xiaomi Rumored To Create New Brand Specifically For Offline Sales

The effects of their competitors can no longer be denied

When Xiaomi started ruling the roost in terms of online sales in China, their domestic competitors like Huawei and Lenovo scrambled to create subsidiaries to take the fight to them. Now, the tables have turned – due to the success of their rivals OPPO and Vivo in their home market, specifically via brick and mortar channels, Xiaomi is reportedly looking to create their own subsidiary for offline sales.

Yes, you read that right – Xiaomi is finally getting serious about offline sales, after the monumental rise of OPPO and Vivo in the past few years, fueled by their robust offline sales and marketing channels.

Along with the new, yet unnamed subsidiary, Xiaomi is also looking to unveil a new phone to spearhead the effort. While there’s only one photo of the phone available right now, you can see it’s yet another dual-camera smartphone from the brand. Is it just a re-badged smartphone from Xiaomi or something else entirely? We’ll have to find out once Xiaomi makes their announcement.
