LG in partnership with Reeds Jewelers in the US, are producing 500 23-karat gold plated units (with Alligator skin strap) of the LG Watch Urbane. The smart watch will have the same internal specifications but it will be renamed “LG Watch Urbane LUXE“. It will be sold for a whopping $1,200 or roughly Php52,000.

“Wearable devices shouldn’t be thought of as an extension of one’s smartphone but an extension of oneself.” – Chris Yie, LG

This probably won’t make it to the Philippines since there are only 500 units that will be made.

If you want to know more about the LG Watch Urbane you can check out our hands-on video below which we shot at the floor of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

  1. Insanely priced for a GOLD PLATED only watch. I’d rather buy tag huer or fossil and the likes at that price point. Surely a watch may be an extension or expression of oneself but not on a smartwatch.

If you want to express how rich you are, buy yourself a Patek Philippe pilot 1936 watch or the more expensive Patek Philippe 1943 Watch.

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that I think this LG urbane luxe is overly priced. Just a thought.
