We currently have one unit of the LifeProof case for the iPhone 4. Everything about it from the packaging to the actual case is great! This will definitely make waves all over the world. Unboxing is pretty simple, just open the bottom and slide out the contents. Inside you’ll find the two pieces of the case, a cleaning cloth, and the headphones extension.
For the level of protection this case guarantees you’ll be amazed at how sleek, convenient, and lightweight LifeProof is. It weighs 28g and adds around 1.5mm in terms of depth to your iPhone 4. That’s amazing considering LifeProof is supposed to secure your phone from water, shock, dirt, and snow.
Putting it on though is a bit tricky. In order to fully secure your iPhone 4 you have to make sure that there are no dirt, hair, or other particules inside the case when you put the phone in. You also have the remove whatever screen protector you have on since it might interfere with the existing screen on the top cover of the case. Once everything is pristine, pop the iPhone 4 in the front case, put the back case in, and start massaging the sides until everything is locked. Note that you’ll have full access to all of your controls and buttons (volume, mute, etc.).
It comes in three colors: black, white, and pink. I have a black iPhone 4 and the white LifeProof case. If you put the black iPhone 4 in it you’ll actually think that you have a white iPhone 4, hehe. ^^;
LifeProof is supposed to be water proof, shock proof, snow proof, and dirt proof. Being the crazy reviewers that we are here at Unbox we decided to put the first two claims to the test. Using the test unit of the LifeProof case we dunked our iPhone 4 in water and then did a 5 ft. drop. Here’s a video of our madness.
As you can see from the video the iPhone 4 came out without any damage from either the water dunk or the drop! Pretty impressive if you ask me.
LifeProof will be distributed in the Philippines by Applewerkz. There’s no official price yet or date on when the case will be available. From what I heard though it will be under Php5,000.
