MediaTek expands its line of Dimensity 5G processors with the Dimensity 720, its most affordable 5G processor to date. Slotting below the Dimensity 820, the Dimensity 720 is also built on a 7nm process and also comes with an integrated 5G modem. Like its other Dimensity processors, it comes with MediaTek 5G UltraSave to help in improving overall battery life.
For connectivity, the Dimensity 720 supports sub-6Ghz 5G networks, along with tech like two carrier aggregation (2CC CA), Voice over New Radio (VoNR), 5G and 4G dual SIM, dual standby (DSDS).
Its core configuration consists of two Cortex-A76 cores running at 2Ghz and six efficiency cores. Taking care of the GPU side is a Mali-G57 GPU. The Dimensity 720 supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
As a mid-range processor, the Dimensity 720 supports 90hz displays and HDR10+ and can handle a single 64-megapixel (or dual 20+16-megapixel) rear camera setups. Its integrated APU handles its range of AI-based camera enhancements.
Expect the Dimensity 720 to be available soon on mid-range 5G phones.
