A more affordable variant of the Helio G90
MediaTek adds a new processor under the Helio G series with the G70. As a lower-end version of the Helio G90, the Helio G70 uses two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2Ghz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.7Ghz. It can support up to 8GB of 1800MHz LPDDR4X RAM but has no support for UFS 2.1—with the Helio G70, you are limited to eMMC 5.1.
For the cameras, the Helio G70 natively supports 48-megapixel cameras or two 16-megapixel cameras and can shoot 2K video at 30FPS and Full HD video at 60FPS. Other features include MediaTek’s HyperEngine Game Technology, Integrated Voice on Wakeup, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual 4G VoLTE.
MediaTek has yet disclosed when it will be available, though rumors point to the Redmi 9 as the first phone to use the Helio G70.
