After many delays and missed deadlines, Microsoft has announced that they are now rolling out the update of Windows 10 mobile to older Windows Phone 8.1 devices starting today. There’s a huge swath of phones that’s eligible to get the update, including a variety of Lumia devices. Here’s the list:

  • Lumia 1520
  • Lumia 930
  • Lumia 640
  • Lumia 640XL
  • Lumia 730
  • Lumia 735
  • Lumia 830
  • Lumia 532
  • Lumia 535
  • Lumia 540
  • Lumia 635 1GB
  • Lumia 636 1GB
  • Lumia 638 1GB
  • Lumia 430
  • Lumia 435
  • BLU Win HD w510u
  • BLU Win HD LTE x150q

To download the updates, eligible phones need to download Microsoft’s UpdateAdvisor app from the Windows store which verifies if the updates are arriving on your phone. Once you install it, make sure to enable the Windows 10 upgrade option, then tap done. After that, you’ll need to go to settings > phone update and check for updates. If you’ve managed to go through all of that, you’ll receive a notification once the OTA has been downloaded.

Curiously Cherry Mobile’s Alpha line of smartphones are not on the list, though we’ve reached out to the local brand to see if their phones are getting the update.

[UPDATE] Microsoft has added a video that guides users on updating their phone to Windows 10. We’ve added it above.
