Microsoft to Unveil Successor to the X?

Will Microsoft continue the run of the X?

When (then independent) handset division of Nokia unveiled the X in the Philippines, they said that the one of the factors that would seal the fate of the new, forked Android smartphone would be how well it does in the markets that it’s introduced in. It seems that it’s done well enough that Microsoft is prepping to launch a follow-up to the X, according to the (Microsoft run) Nokia Conversations blog.

There’s not a lot to see, except a green image followed by a countdown timer that’s set to end on June 24. It’s also interesting to see if the new smartphone will still have Nokia’s branding, as whatever remains of the Finnish company after the handset division was lopped off and sold to Microsoft is no longer making phones (obviously). We’ll probably see on the 24th.
