Here’s some good news for Apple iPad fans out there. GSMArena reports that new iPad models powered by Apple’s new A10X chipset are in the pipeline for a post-Q1 2017 launch. According to “Taiwan-based supply chain makers,” production for the new tablet line will be starting this December.
Based on rumor mill info, these iPads will be packing Apple’s newly-iterated A10X SoCs, the successor chipset to the ones currently inside the hood of the iPhone 7 series. As for other key specs, we’ll have to wait for the rumor grapevine to leak more details.

Aside from a 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch tablet, Apple is also expected to launch a smaller, cheaper 9.7-inch iPad in early 2017. However, this particular model will be running the older A9X chipset currently being used in the iPad Pro 9.7.
