Hands-on with the Nokia Pureview 808!

Initial Impressions: Nokia 808 Pureview

We were able to get some hands-on time with the Nokia 808 Pureview (Php27,989) during one of the events that we attended a few days ago. Unfortunately we didn’t have a good camera with us and the lighting was terrible which means the quality of our photos are kinda bad, hehe.

Before we jump into our initial impressions let’s quickly do a refresher. The Nokia Pureview 808 was announced at the Mobile World Congress and almost stole the show because of it’s 41-megapixel camera. There’s no contesting the fact that the phone is able to take amazing photos and videos however it does have a few quirks.

It’s kinda big, hehe…

That’s a big camera phone o_o

As you can see from the photo above the Nokia 808 Pureview has a thick top part due to the camera. The weight actually is leaning on this area so you’ll definitely feel the heft when it’s in your hands.

It still runs Symbian…

No Windows for you

The Nokia 808 also runs on Symbian and not Windows. We tried it ourselves and played around with the different apps and it pretty much delivers on all the core functions. The interface is intuitive and you’ll get the hang of using the phone in less than 30 minutes.

The camera was amaaaaazing!

The best thing about the Nokia 808 Pureview is really the camera. I don’t have sample shots here but the guy who had it showed me some of the photos he took and man I was blown away by the quality! It’s amazing how they were able to come up with the technology to be able to do this!

We wanna review it… paging Nokia Philippines!

That said… we wanna review it. We want to take it for a spin and take so many photos and videos. So how about it Nokia Philippines? 😛
