NVIDIA’s RTX 2080 Ti Is Their New Monster GPU

It’s their fastest GeForce card ever

After two long years, NVIDIA has officially announced the successor to their GTX 10 series. Their new RTX graphic line, spearheaded by the truly monstrous RTX 2080 Ti is the company’s most powerful consumer-grade GPU ever made.

The new GPU and its brothers, the RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 is based on the company’s new Turing architecture, which allows for ray-tracing, a new rendering technique that results in truly mind-numbingly realistic real-time light reflections and cinematic effects.

The RTX 2080 Ti is the top of the line model for the new GPU line, packing 4,352 CUDA cores, which is just a few hundred short of NVIDIA’s professional Quadro RTX 6,000’s 4,608 cores. The new GPU line also uses bleeding-edge Samsung-made GDDR6 memory, which gives it better memory bandwidth overall compared to the previous generation.

The card is clocked at 1515MHz and sports 11GB of GDDR6 VRAM and requires a 650-watt power supply to run. The result is a card that’s capable of running 4K resolution with games past 60 FPS at the highest graphical setting. The RTX 2080 Ti is capable of running NVIDIA’s Infiltrator demo at Gamescom at around 78 FPS without any issues, while a previous generation GTX 1080 Ti could only run it at around 30 FPS.

A monster GPU like this obviously commands a monster price, and the RTX 2080 Ti has a whopping $1,199 price tag on it (Php 63K) without shipping and taxes. The Founder’s Edition RTX 2080 is more palatable at $799 (Php 42.6K) without taxes and duties while the Founder’s Edition RTX 2070 is priced at $599 (Php 32K).
