Two versions of the R7 is set to be released, at least in China
OPPO’s upcoming bezel-less R7 has been leaked so many times now that our week wouldn’t be complete without talking about the yet unreleased device, and predictably there’s yet another leak for it this week. This time, the new leak comes by way of China’s TEENA agency, which lists the specs of the upcoming smartphone before its official launch. Apparently two versions of the R7 will be released when it’s finally launched this month – one for China Telecom and one for China Mobile, which use different processors.
The R7c sports a Snapdragon 615 processor (the same one in the older OPPO R5) running at 1.5GHz, while the R7t will use a MediaTek MT6752 processor running at 1.7GHz. Both processors are octa-core deals, and will be paired with a 5-inch full HD display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. You can expect a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel front, along with Android 4.4 KitKat and 2320mAh battery.
OPPO is positioning the R7 as a direct competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy A7, and will be priced at the same level. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy A7 is priced at Php 24,990.
We’ve heard rumors that the R7 will make an apperance in the PH sometime in June.
