Qualcomm Set to Launch the Snapdragon 660 and Two 630-Series SOCs

Three New Snapdragon S0Cs on May 9

Qualcomm is set to launch their new mid-ranged SoC in a couple of days, the Snapdragon 660, which rumor has it is making its way onto one of OPPO’s phones already. From what various online sources say, the new SoC is an octa-core processor that uses Kyro 280 cores and is built on the 14nm process; along with that you’re also getting an Adreno 512 GPU. As for its performance, we’re going to have to wait for the event proper to see how it stacks up against other members of the Snapdragon family; especially the Snapdragon 652, which the 660 may eventually be replacing.

Aside from the Snapdragon 660, reports are coming in that we are most likely going to be seeing two other SoCs unveiled at the May 9 event — The Snapdragon 630 and 635. We haven’t seen or heard any information about these two SoCs just yet, but May 9 is just a few days away; a little patience may be in order.

Check back with us in a couple of days, as we will be following this story closely.
