To be first available with Snapdragon 765 and 765G processors
Qualcomm announced an update to the 5-year old Quick Charge 3.0 with Quick Charge 3+. The updated charging protocol brings fast charging to mid-range devices. With Quick Charge 3+, Qualcomm claims 0-50% battery top-ups in as fast as 30 mins, along with better power efficiency with up to 9% lower temperatures compared to Quick Charge 3.0.
Quick Charge 3+ inherits a few features from Quick Charge 4.0 like support for 20mV steps scalable voltage, fast charging with USB-C to USB-A cables, and backwards compatibility with older Quick Charge protocols.
The new quick charging protocol is available for Snapdragon 765 and 765G processors, with Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Youth Edition as the first phone to support both Quick Charge 3+ and Quick Charge 4+.
