Razer Working on Possible PH Launch for the Razer Phone 2

Some good news for hardcore mobile gamers out there

While you can buy Razer products officially through their local distributors or via their online web store, some fans are wondering whether Razer will be selling their gaming phones locally as well. While the first Razer phone was released in select markets, the Razer Phone 2 was released on a wider scale—though the Philippines is not included.

At Razer’s announcement where they are the official eSports partner for the 2019 SEA Games, we talked to Razer Chief Strategy officer Li Meng Lee, and he confirmed that they are “absolutely” bringing the Razer Phone 2 to our shores. “For the Razer Phone 2, we basically widened the [distribution] and worked with more carriers,” Lee said.

Razer is taking time before they launch the Razer Phone 2 to the Philippines as they are considering other factors like carrier partners and certification processes. Lee said that these go in together with finding the right distributor and the right market in order to successfully sell the Razer phone 2. “We want to make sure that all those things are done right when the phone [Razer Phone 2] launches in the Philippines.”

Currently, ASUS’ ROG Phone is the only gaming phone that is officially sold in the Philippines, and the entry of the Razer Phone 2 should help in hardcore mobile gamers having more choices in choosing their preferred gaming smartphone.

Razer has been working on improving their presence in the Philippines, the latest being a partnership with Lazada for the Razer Game Store.
