When it comes to phone releases, Realme is setting a really fast pace with new models. With the C-series, Realme has launched four models for the past 9 months so far. There’s the gaming-focused Realme C3, the ultra-budget Realme C11, the big-batteried Realme C15, and the middle child Realme C12.
Four new C-series models are not enough for Realme, so the young brand is actually adding another C-series model with the C17. Ahead of its imminent launch, the Realme C17’s spec sheet has surfaced, and the specs appear to be interesting.
Aside from the Snapdragon 460 processor, the Realme C17 will have a 90Hz display (though only in HD+ resolution), along with a 6GB/128GB configuration—which is a rarity for budget phones. The Realme C17 gets a smaller 5000mAh battery but retains the Realme C15’s 18w wired charging.
For the cameras, the C17 is borrowing the same setup used on the Realme C15: Quad rear cameras (13-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel macro lens, and 2-megapixel mono camera) and an 8-megapixel camera. Like the recently-launched Realme 7 series, the Realme C17 will employ a rectangle module with four rear cameras arranged in an L formation.
If the looks of the Realme C17 ring a bell, that’s because it is a doppelganger of the OPPO A53 (2020) that was revealed a month ago in Indonesia save for the camera setup. Judging from the price of the A53 (2020), we expect the Realme C17 to be priced at around the Php 10k mark—if the brand decides to make it official in the Philippines.
