Here’s Your Best Look at the Realme GT 5G

realme is ready to head-to-head with the premium flagship segment with the GT 5G, and new teaser photos reveal its revamped camera bump sporting a triple rear camera setup and a light blue glass back.

A closer look at the released teaser image confirms the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and an in-display fingerprint scanner (since you get a regular power button). The realme GT 5G is a premium flagship phone through and through with features like a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 120hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888 processor, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and realme’s 65w wired charging.

Those specs are just for the regular GT 5G, as there are rumors of a GT 5G Pro version. That version is said to get an even faster 160hz refresh rate and might debut realme’s 125w UltraDart charging tech.

Going through the rear camera setup, the realme GT 5G will have a 64-megapixel main camera that is accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 13-megapixel telephoto camera.

While the official teaser reveals a variant with a glass back, a poster at MWC Shanghai reveals a Bumblebee-like color blocking with a leather back and an intriguing camera module design.

The GT 5G (and possibly its Pro variant) will make its official debut in China on March 4, and it is expected to be offered globally as it is mentioned in several listings in India. Currently, the X50 Pro 5G is the brand’s current flagship offering in the Philippines, so there’s a good chance that realme might bring the GT 5G to our shores as well.

realme is the smartphone with the biggest YoY growth based on Counterpoint’s Q4 2020 report, managing an incredible 80% growth despite the year being plagued by the COVID-19 pandemic. That can be credited to its expansion across different countries and regions.
