We might see either the Redmi 7 or the Redmi Pro 2
Xiaomi made major announcements today—the first one involving the Redmi line being an independent brand. This decision means that Redmi will work independently but will share Xiaomi’s resources, just like how Honor is to Huawei and Realme is to OPPO. This also means that Redmi will be focused more on E-commerce sales, while Xiaomi’s Mi line will be more for traditional store sales.
In addition, Redmi’s independence from Xiaomi means that there will be a flagship-grade Redmi phone in the future. This brings us to the second announcement, where Redmi teased that their upcoming phone on January 10 will have a 48-megapixel camera.
While the poster does not reveal much, there are two possibilities right now: either Redmi will launch the Redmi 7 family (which includes the Pro, Plus, and Note variants), or Redmi will be resurrecting the Redmi Pro line with the Redmi Pro 2. If it is the latter, a Snapdragon 675 processor is one of its confirmed features.
