A bigger Edge
Along with the Note 5, Samsung also announced a bigger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge today, dubbed the S6 Edge+. If you think that the Edge+ is simply a supersized Edge, you’d be right – the new phone now has a 5.7-inch QHD display as opposed to the 5.1-inch one in the original, along with a slightly bigger 4GB of RAM. Aside from that, there’s nothing really different from the new, bigger model from the smaller one.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ specs:
- Exynos 7420 octa-core processor
- 4GB of RAM
- 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED dual-edge display, 2560 x 1440 resolution
- 32/64GB of storage
- 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS
- 5-megapixel front camera
- 3G, LTE Cat. 6
- WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, NFC
- 3000mAh
- Android 5.1 Lollipop, TouchWiz UI
And that’s its biggest problem, potentially. Aside from the the S-Pen and overall design, nothing really sets the S6 Edge+ apart from the Note 5. It’ll be interesting to see how Samsung will try to sell the S6 Edge+ to consumers considering the differences (or lack thereof) of the device compared to the Note 5 – we’ll have to see tomorrow morning what Samsung PH has to say about it.
