Huawei is up for some serious competition
Samsung has been stepping up their smartphone photography game lately: following an impressive finish with the Galaxy Note 9, the recently-launched Galaxy S10 Plus proved to be a big hit for the Korean tech giant. DxOMark got their hands on Samsung’s 2019 flagship and gave it an overall score of 109, matching Huawei’s P20 Pro and Mate 20 Pro—two of the best performing phones in DxOMark.
Going through the breakdown, the Galaxy S10 Plus scored 114 in the photo category, where it excelled in doing well in exposure and color reproduction regardless of the lighting situation. The Galaxy S10 Plus’ key strength is its dynamic range, as it captures a wider range compared to its rivals.
When it comes to video, the Galaxy S10 Plus’ 97 video score is credited to its speedy autofocus and solid image stabilization, on top of very good color reproduction.
