It’s been more than half a year since Samsung released their flagship smartphone series, the Samsung Galaxy S7, so it’s about time we got some leaks on its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Today’s speculative info comes leaksters in Weibo, China’s biggest online forum and it details a couple of spec tidbits on the upcoming S8 flagship series.
For its SoC, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and its S8 Edge variant are both expected to pack a new Exynos 8895 chipset clocked at a whopping 3.0GHz. Leaked benchmarks show the SoC scoring 2301 on single-core and 7019 on multi-core for the initial test. For reference, Apple’s iPhone 7 SoC, the A10 scored 3506 on single-core and 6073 on multi-core tests.
The leaksters also anticipate that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will perform even better than these initial results. Another rumor also notes that the S8 SoCs might be manufactured with the 10nm process, which will definitely improve the devices’ power efficiency and overall performance by around 30%.
Last but not the least, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is speculated to be Samsung’s first smartphone with a dual-camera setup, which seems to be the in-thing nowadays. Improvements in the architecture will also be bumping the image processing capabilities of the S8 series by a large 70% to 80%.
