Samsung Just Patented A Folding Gaming Smartphone

That’s actually quite clever

While Samsung has always released top-tier flagships that could handle gaming, the company hasn’t really come up with a gaming phone per se. Well, that could be changing: Samsung Display has just filed a patent for what appears to be a folding phone that could double as a gaming device, with built-in controls on the bezel.

LetsGoDigital made a conceptual render of the patent filed, and it surprisingly looks good. A hinge on one end of the display allows for the use of a controller and physical buttons in gaming mode. You can use it as a regular phone and unfold it like a tablet if you wish.

It’s certainly a unique take on the gaming phone trend. Samsung already makes smartphones that are capable of handling the most demanding mobile games, so they already have the hardware part of the equation down.

Would you buy a phone like this?
