Samsung Makes Their Absolutely Gigantic 18.4-inch Galaxy View Official

This is an enormous tablet

Remember that rumored 18.4-inch tablet of Samsung that they’re supposedly making? Well, it’s now official, and it’s called the Galaxy View. The new tablet is an absolute behemoth of a device, spanning 18.4-inches diagonal and has dimensions of 75.8 x 451.8 x 11.9mm. It’s also 2.65 kilos in weight, which makes it one of the heaviest gadgets around, never mind tablet. Obviously the Galaxy View wasn’t made to be used like your regular tablet (we dare you to take this to the can with you) and is envisioned more like a portable-ish media machine.

Samsung Galaxy View specs

  • 1.6GHz octa-core processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 18.4-inch full HD display, 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 32GB/64GB of storage, expandable via microSD
  • 2.1-megapixel front facing camera
  • LTE (optional)
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • 5700mAh battery

In line with that, Samsung has made a tweaked version of their TouchWiz UI dubbed the Media UX for the Galaxy View that allows you to enjoy streaming content better. Internally, the tablet is running a 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 64GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, 5700mAh battery and a nano-SIM slot. The last one isn’t a typo. The 18.4-inch display uses a full HD resolution, giving the tablet a whopping 120 pixels per inch.

Samsung has not priced the Galaxy View though the device will go on sale this November.
