Samsung Went All Out With This One

Samsung President JK Shin wasn’t kidding when he said that “Relentless Innovation” was their philosophy when they were building the Galaxy S6 Edge. Unlike their recent releases which felt more like minor upgrades, the Galaxy S6 Edge is a complete redesign and a big step forward. The build, features, and supporting ecosystem makes the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge potential game changers in the premium Android smartphone category. To better illustrate our point, we put together our top 5 reasons why we believe that the Galaxy S6 Edge is a killer flagship and you can check them out below. 🙂

Fast and Crazy Good Camera

The whole world loves taking photos and selfies and the Galaxy S6 Edge will bring your “Selfie Game” to the next level. The front facing camera of the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge has an F1.9 aperture which means it can absorb more light (better in low light). It also has real time HDR (a world first) and a Low Light Shot Mode. The Low Light Show mode takes a bunch of photos and the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge uses all of them to create a better lit pic.

The primary rear camera packs the same low light capabilities plus a 16MP shooter and OIS Auto Focus.

Samsung was so proud of their new camera that they did a comparison of shots taken with the iPhone 6 Plus and the Galaxy S6. Check out the difference between the two photos below. Both were taken in low light condition.

Lastly, you can bring up the camera up very quickly (less than 1 second) just by double tapping the home button.

Amazing Metal Body with Dual-Curved Display

One of the obvious biggest improvements is the hardware. The dual-curved glass combined with the full metal chassis oozes sexiness. We put together a short and simple video to give you guys a better idea of what the phone is all about.

Cleaner and Faster User Interface

Touchwiz, Samsung’s custom ROM, has gotten tons of criticism for having too much bloatware and unnecessary notifications and alerts. They took all of that out with the new ROM that ships with the S6/S6 Edge. It actually looks a whole lot more like Google’s Material Design now.

Fast Charging

Fast charging FTW!
Fast charging FTW!

Samsung started this feature with the Galaxy Note 4 and now they’ve refined it and included it as a killer feature in the S6 and S6 Edge. According to Samsung, their new devices will get a full charge in half the time the iPhone 6 Plus gets it. That’s a pretty bold statement! Apparently for every 10 minutes of charging you can get up to 4 hours of use. This is a very welcome “upgrade” since you can easily top up your phone’s battery throughout the day by quick 15-20 minute charges.

Ridiculously Good Display

Beautiful.
Beautiful.

Last, but definitely not the least, we have the display. The Galaxy S6 Edge packs a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. That’s roughly 577 pixels per inch, the most we’ve ever seen in a quality flagship smartphone. Combine that with the dual curved edges and you have a gorgeous phone that becomes even prettier when it’s turned on. 😛
