Flagship features for Mid-Range Phones
Now there’s one good reason for mid-range phones: Samsung’s newly-unveiled Exynos 9610 will be a powerhouse chipset for future mid-range phones. Manufactured using a 10nm process, the Exynos 9610 has four Cortex-A53 and four Cortex-A73 cores, along with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
Being a chip focused on photography, the Exynos 9610 has support for 480FPS super slo-mo at 1080P, along with 4K video at 120FPS in HEVC. The chip is capable of either a single 24-megapixel camera or a dual 16-megapixel array.
It will also come with its own neural processing unit, making the Exynos 9610 optimized for AI features like smart face detection, smart depth-sensing, improved low-light performance, and AR effects.
In addition to its AI and photography-centric features, the Exynos 9610 has an LTE Cat 13 model that can do up to 600Mbps download speeds and 150mbps upload speeds.
Expect to see this chip with mid-range Samsung phones in the future.
