Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 Loses Headphone Jack, Gains Wired Noise-cancelling Headphones

Oof

Samsung’s flagships were a bastion for people who loved their wired cans, retaining the 3.5mm jack on their S and Note smartphones despite the actions of their competitors.

Sadly, that’s coming to an end with the Galaxy Note 10. Leaked images show that the phone ditches the 3.5mm jack altogether, putting it more in line aesthetically with most other flagship phones in the market today.

But there is a silver lining – Samsung is reportedly unveiling wired, in-ear USB Type-C headphones with active noise canceling tech with the Galaxy Note 10, though right now it’s not clear if the cans come standard with the phone or an optional accessory.

While you can always plug in a Type-C to 3.5mm dongle to use wired cans, that’s not always ideal or possible. We found ourselves wishing for a regular 3.5mm jack on many Type-C only smartphones since we couldn’t charge and listen to music at the same time.
