Smart Prepaid LTE anyone?
We’ve been very satisfied and happy with Smart LTE ever since it was introduced via the USB dongle and Pocket WiFi devices a few months back. Truthfully the speeds dipped a bit when LTE was activated for the iPhone 5 and other LTE handsets but it’s been stable at 9-18Mbps DL ever since. At that speed we’ve enjoyed ridiculously fast downloads and uploads in the last few months. The good news is that LTE will now be available to a bigger group of customers and not just postpaid subscribers. Yes folks, Smart LTE is going prepaid.
As reported earlier by Techlokal, Smart is set to unveil prepaid pricing and rates for their LTE service tomorrow, April 19, 2013. That will open up the floodgates to LTE and while we’re excited about this development we’re also hoping that the surge of users won’t affect service quality. We’re already thrilled with the coverage since most of the areas we visit usually are covered by LTE (they even have in Tagayatay… wild). We just hope that the quality stays the same.
Anyway, there are no details yet for pricing but expect us to report it as soon as it’s revealed tomorrow during the media event.
