Rejoice, Sony faithful
Sony is readying its biggest Android update to date – the company has announced on its official blog that it’ll be updating a ton of phones from a large swath of its product lines to Android 5.1. The company previously started updating its Xperia Z line of products last year to 5.0, and now Sony’s going the extra mile and updating those products to Android 5.1 as well.
That’s not all though: Sony has also announced that many of its other Android phones that are not part of the Xperia Z series will be getting Android 5.1 as well. This includes the Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua, the T2 Ultra and the Xperia C3. Here’s the full list:
- Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
- Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet
- Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z Ultra GPE
- Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and Xperia Tablet Z
- Xperia M2, M2 Aqua, Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia C3
The new update will start on July via OTA, so you might want to start checking if Sony has an update for you once July rolls in.
