Made for the audio purists

Sony wants to give the best in quality not just with their TV sets, but also with their audio gear. For its 2018 premium audio lineup, the MDR-Z7M2 is Sony’s premium headphones. A successor to the MDR-Z7, the MDR-Z7M2 inherits some of the features of the MDR-Z1R that includes a 70mm driver unit, an aluminum-coated Liquid Crystal Polymer diaphragms, bigger magnets, and a Fibonacci-patterned grill.

With its premium build, Sony gave comfort a priority on the MDR-Z7M2, equipping it with ergonomically shaped three-dimensional sewed ear pads, and aluminum alloy hanger (wrapped in synthetic leather) and slider for a lighter weight.

For in-ear monitors, audiophiles can choose between the IER-M9 and IER-M7. Both premium in-ear monitors have a multi-balanced armature system (5-way on the IER-M9, 4-way on the IER-M7) that help in delivering the best tonal balance, resulting in a truly original sound reproduction. Housing those balanced armatures is a magnesium alloy inner housing and an outer housing moulded sound path. Both parts help in minimizing unnecessary vibrations and peaky acoustic resonance for a crystal clear sound.

The MDR-Z7M2 will be available by September, while the IER-M9 and IER-M7 will be available this month.
