Surf all you want with Starmobile’s Play Neo!
Starmobile has officially announced their newest entry-level phone: the Play Neo. The Play Neo is a budget-minded quad-core, 5-inch smartphone with some very interesting freebies. Before we talk about that, let’s take a look at the specs:
- 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadtrum 7731G
- Mali-400MP2 GPU
- 512MB of RAM
- 8GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 32GB
- 5-megapixel rear camera with AF and BSI
- 2-megapixel fixed focus front camera
- 3G, HSPA+
- WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, OTA
- 2000mAh battery
- Android 4.4 KitKat
Okay, so taking a look at the specs, the Play Neo looks like your typical entry-level smartphone: 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 5-megapixel rear camera. What’s really interesting with the Play Neo is its bundled with a Smart prepaid SIM that can give you over 3,500 worth of free data for 12 months. Of course, there’s caveats – you get up to 700MB a month, provided that you have an accumulated top-up (reloads) of up to 150 in a single month. Essentially, the freebie data bundled with the Play Neo is more expensive than the actual phone itself. That’s hard to believe, but that’s what it is.
