A cheaper Flare X is coming!
Cherry Mobile’s Flare X is easily one of the best value-for-money smartphones that’s been released in the last few months by the local behemoth, but for some the Php 6,999 price tag was a bit too steep. Apparently Cherry Mobile is coming up with a slightly cheaper variant of the Flare X that has 1GB of RAM less.
Cherry Mobile Flare X (2GB)
- 1.3GHz octa-core processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 5.5-inch HD IPS OGS display, Gorilla Glass 3, 1920 x 1080 resolution
- 16GB of storage expandable via microSD card
- 13-megapixel rear camera,
- 5-megapixel front camera
- 3G, LTE
- WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
- 3000mAh battery
- Android 5.1 Lollipop
- Php5,999
The new variant should be identical to the higher-end Flare X in terms of design, and is around Php 5,999 – 1K less than the original price-busting smartphone. Several concessions had to be made of course and aside from the RAM reduction, you’re also looking at a lower-resolution display and a slower 1.3GHz processor, possibly the same one found on the company’s newly released Flare 4 series of phones.
Interestingly, Cherry Mobile marks both Flare models as having Android 5.1 Lollipop, so there’s a big chance that the company will be launching the OTA for the Flare X soon, and newer batches of phones will have it from the outset.
