The Alcatel Flash Brand Is Dead

The Alcatel Flash Brand Is Dead

Internal issues lead to the brand dying off

Before Xiaomi was a thing in the Philippines, Alcatel’s Flash smartphone brand was THE bang-for-the-buck king in the country. With no-nonsense pricing and solid internals, the company’s Flash Plus and Flash 2 flew off the shelves, even threatening the sales of then market leader Cherry Mobile.

But after the Flash 2, the brand seemingly and suddenly went MIA. No other phones were offered under the brand, and what looked like a promising star abruptly went kaput.

Anyone still clinging on to the hope that the brand is alive should give up, as Alcatel’s country head, Rudolph Santos, told us that the Flash brand is dead. Put to the sword. Pushing daisies.

While he didn’t go into specifics, according to him we won’t be seeing Flash as a brand under Alcatel anymore.

Too bad – bang-for-the-buck devices like Flash, and by extension, Xiaomi and Honor has a place in the market, and hopefully Alcatel reconsiders their decision regarding this brand and revives it in the future.
