And will have arguably the brightest 48-megapixel camera out there
Among the many teasers Xiaomi has released about the Mi 9, there was a mention of an Alita Special edition, which was revealed with an Alita-branded packaging and a special case.
It turns out that the Alita edition is the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, as confirmed by Xiaomi founder Lei Jun. Like Mi 8 Pro/Explorer Edition, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition comes with that cool transparent glass back revealing some of the Mi 9’s internals (don’t expect them to be the actual components—ask JerryRigEverything why). On top of that, it will come with beefed up specs that include a whopping 12GB of RAM and a better 48-megapixel main rear camera with a f/1.47 aperture and a 7P lens (the regular Mi 9’s 48-megapixel camera comes with a f/1.75 aperture and a 6P lens).
Aside from those two standout features, the Mi 9 Transparent Edition will have the same features as the regular Mi 9s: Snapdragon 855, Samsung AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass 6 protection, sapphire glass for the rear camera module, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
We will know more about the Mi 9 on February 20 (in China) and February 24 (at MWC 2019) so stay tuned.
