Yet another test to show the phone’s durability

How do you show customers that your phone is capable of enduring extreme conditions without breaking? If you’re Redmi, it means sending up your smartphone into the edge of space.

The folks behind the Redmi Note 7 wanted to show the world how durable their phone is under extreme conditions, and it doesn’t get more extreme than the edge of space. With temperatures of -60 degrees Celcius 30 kilometers up, it takes a special breed of the phone to survive that sort of trip.

And survive it did. After taking photos of the curvature of the earth (take that, flat earthers), the phone dropped back down, assisted by drag chutes to cushion its fall.

It looks like the Redmi Note 7 has the right stuff to withstand the rigors of subzero temperatures and high-altitude travel. Just remember not to bend it.
