No kids, this isn’t throwback Thursday – the phone that you see above really is a brand new phone that LG is launching internationally, dubbed the Wine Smart. LG, just like Samsung and a couple of other companies in Japan, are fond of creating clamshell devices in their home markets, but very rarely do they release these phones internationally.

Apparently the folks at LG thinks there’s an audience for these kinds of phones, and that’s why they’re looking to launch the Wine Smart in select markets (namely France, Italy, Poland, Spain, Kazakhstan, Japan and the United Kingdom) later this month.

The Wine Smart sports a 1.1GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 3.2-inch, 320 x 480 resolution display, along with 4GB of expandable storage, 3.15-megapixel rear camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop and a 1700mAh battery. Not exactly what you’d call screaming hardware, but on a device like this, that’s hardly the point.

No price has been announced as of yet.
