There’s expensive, then there’s expensive

If gold plating your iPhone 6 or Galaxy Note 4 isn’t enough to show the world how truly loaded you are, you can always opt to buy hyper-luxurious smartphones from BlackBerry, Vertu and Lamborghini. Yes, Lamborghini, the same Italian sport scar manufacturer apparently now has their smartphone, dubbed the Tonino Lamborghini 88 Tauri. Aside from its unnecessarily long name, the new smartphone from the Italian brand also has a price tag that many people may find ridiculous – one of these phones will set you back $6000, or around Php 267180.

Compared to other luxury smartphones, the Tonino Lamborghibi 88 Tauri has rather decent specs – Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 5-inch full HD display with a 20-megapixel rear camera and a 8-megapixel front camera. Much like the recently released Huawei Ascend Mate7 and the Starmobile Knight X, the Tonino Lamborghibi 88 Tauri has dual SIMS that are LTE enabled, allowing the globe trotting owner to switch the whatever LTE band he/she wants with ease.

Of course the main draw for the new smartphone is the quality of the materials used. There’s plenty of steel and leather in the stylish smartphone, and the body is very aggressively styled to resemble Lamborghini’s iconic sports cars.

Aside from being prohibitively expensive, the Tonino Lamborghibi 88 Tauri will also be produced in limited numbers, with just 1947 phones rolling off the assembly line. Why 1947? Well, that’s the year when Tonio Lamborghini, the son of the famed Ferruccio Lamborghini was born. While most of us regular Joes would never be able to see one of these things (let alone buy one) at least you’ll know how much it costs when one of our politicians buy one for him/herself.
