US Telco Confirms Oreo Update For Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5

Even Samsung’s older flagships will be getting the update

If you own Samsung’s older flagships and were wondering when they would be getting sweet, sweet Oreo, don’t fret – US telco T-Mobile has confirmed on their website that at least three of the Korean company’s older phones, namely the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+, will be getting the newest version of Android.

The company updated the support pages for the said phones, with the phrase “T-Mobile and the device manufacturer have agreed to support a new software update.”

If the statement eventually rings true, then Samsung would be one of the few smartphone manufacturers that supports their phones with additional Android updates past the usual 2-year industry standard. It’s also important to note that future Android updates will likely won’t just be for T-Mobile customers, as it seems far-fetched for Samsung to just roll out updates to a single subscriber base when they can easily apply it to all the phones currently in the wild.
