There are a few caveats though

Months ago, we have questioned brands like OPPO and Vivo for not declaring which of their phones will be receiving Android Oreo. As of this writing, most (if not all) phones from both brands are stuck with Android Nougat. However, things are going for a good turn with Vivo working on Android Oreo updates.

In a forum post, it has been announced that Vivo is working on updating its FunTouch OS with Android Oreo. While there are no details yet with what to expect, Vivo hinted that its Android Oreo updates will arrive as early as April 2018.

There’s one BIG caveat though: Vivo’s Android Oreo update is for its China-only X-series models, which include the X20, X20 Plus, XPlay 6, X9, X9 Plus, X9S, and X9S Plus. There’s no mention if the V-series or Y-series will be receiving the much-awaited update yet, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.

As of this writing, Vivo has only issued an Android Nougat update for the V5 series phones.
