The recall involves the scooter’s folding mechanism
If you happen to own Xiaomi’s Mi Electric Scooter, you might need to check your scooter’s serial number. Recently, Xiaomi posted an advisory recalling select Mi Electric Scooters, where a select batch has issues with the scooter’s folding mechanism.
In the said advisory, Xiaomi said that “a screw in the folding apparatus has the potential to come loose, causing the vertical component to break from the main body while in use.”
Affected units are those produced between October 27, 2018 and December 5, 2018, carrying serial numbers 21074/00000316 – 21074/00015107 and 16133/00541209 – 16133/00544518.

The recall program will start on June 26, 2019 for the United Kingdom and July 1, 2019 for other markets.
