The hyperbolic zoom wars is far from over: While Huawei and Samsung have phones that can do up to 100x digital zoom, Xiaomi is set to launch a phone that can do an insane, out of this world 120x digital zoom. The phone in question—said to be the Mi 10 Ultra—made its appearance on what looks like an official poster.
The official poster teases a new phone with a quad-rear camera setup that is highlighted by a large periscope module that can do 120x digital zoom. Reading through the text written, the periscope module has an F/4.1 opening and a 10x focal length range, while the main camera will have an F/1.85 opening.
Based on current rumors, the Mi 10 Ultra will be offered in either 8GB/256GB or 12GB/512GB variants. Powering it is a Snapdragon 865+ processor with a 4500mAh battery that supports 100w wired and 55w wireless charging.
What remains to be a mystery is the display. While it is expected to have an AMOLED panel, the Mi 10 Ultra might be the first production phone to have an under-display camera.
We should know more about the Mi 10 Ultra come August 11 at Xiaomi’s 10th anniversary.
