Is this Xiaomi’s next announcement?

We know that Xiaomi is releasing new phones this January, and aside from the updated Redmi 1s, it seems that the Chinese company is also releasing a new Redmi Note device, dubbed the Redmi Note 2. The new smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, a 64-bit processor (right now it’s a tossup between Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 or MediaTek’s MT6572), 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, along with a 13-megapixel camera and a 3100mAh battery.

The best part is that the new device is pegged to come with a RMB 999 price tag, which equates to around Php 7000. Since Xiaomi likes to keep the prices of their devices overseas along the same line as their prices in China, you can expect that the price of the Redmi Note 2 will be the same in the PH.

The only problem is availability. Xiaomi’s already released a couple of products in China that has not seen the light of day in the PH or any other territory outside their home country – their current Mi4 flagship is just a fever dream for people this side of the world. New devices are great, but we hope the folks over at Xiaomi start bringing their hotly anticipated gadgets to territories out of China quicker.
