Acer is planning to unveil a high-end “gaming smartwatch” as well as a new wearable smart device in the upcoming IFA Berlin 2016 expo, DigiTimes reports. The wearable is most likely to be the successor to Acer’s Leap+ fitness band.
PhoneArena earlier reported a tech enthusiast named Dave Bennett achieving the feat of running Counter Strike 1.6 on his LG G Watch. That kind of gaming is probably not what Acer is aiming for with their new product, but it’s telling of the potential gaming avenues you can go with just a “smartwatch.” Here’s a video of CS 1.6 on Android Wear.
ASUS and Samsung are also expected to release their own smart wearables at IFA Berlin in the form of the third-generation ZenWatch and the eagerly awaited Gear S3.
