Raffy Tulfo Wants to Challenge Lazada, Shopee with Idol Shopping Network

Yes, you read that headline right: broadcaster and media personality Raffy Tulfo is set to operate his own online marketplace to rival current eCommerce platforms. To be called Idol Shopping Network (ISN), Tulfo wants to rival Lazada and Shopee in the eCommerce space, even claiming that his upcoming eCommerce platform with “well-screened merchants and resellers”.

“The selection process is long and strict. Sending a photo of the item for sale isn’t enough. We must see the item itself,” Tulfo said in an interview with The Philippine Star.

To ensure customers are 100% satisfied, Tulfo disclosed that customers must sign a contract saying they agree to be taken photos and videos while opening the package from the courier–on top of signing a document saying that they got the right product and it is in good condition. While that may sound skeptical, Tulfo explains that documentation is vital, and that all photos and videos will go to a system.

Aside from that, Tulfo claims that ISN will provide opportunities for merchants with zero capital–as long as they comply with ISN’s strict standards. One of its long-term goals is to earn enough profits to subsidize a school.

ISN will be operated by Tulfo’s children.

  1. well its a welcome relief. lazada is full of bogus sellers. some inside lazada employees are involved because of the well detailed buyer’s data the bogus sellers have. dti has tons of pending cases. shoppee is notorious for using ill mannered and scrupulous j and t delivery/riders who have their own time/come what may/we are here na or package will be sent back kind of delivery. i sure don’t want to be the it manager in both these companies. they make surveys and emails from the ceo asking how the service is but they still don’t use the buyers suggestions and can’t cope up with the bogus sellers who have a detailed information of lazada and shoppee users.

  2. so pag wala ka sa bahay or sa opisina mo pinadeliver eh required buksan nung receiver ung package?

okay na ung may photo upon receipt, pero daoat di na required na iopen on the spot.

paano kung TV un or malalaking appliances? antayin pa maipasok sa bahay tapos urauradan buksan?

  3. Totally 1000% correct!!! 4 times I’ve received items not remotely close to what was offered or shown on the ads.
