The merger started this first half of 2019
Carousell is set to merge with OLX Philippines after the former received a $56 million funding from Naspers’ OLX Group. According to a report by DealStreetAsia, the deal involves acquiring the Philippine arm of OLX.
For the merger, OLX Philippines General Manager Raffy Montemayor will manage Carousell’s operations and lead in the transition, which started this first half of 2019.
In the FAQ section regarding the merger, all OLX, Property24, and Carousell ads will be integrated together to one big online marketplace once the transition is completed. Both platforms will remain usable for now, and OLX will be updating its users through various channels.
