Netflix finally brings its mobile-only plan to the Philippines after it has become official in India. The new plan was silently announced on their website, and is priced at Php 149 a month—that’s roughly the price for a cup of coffee.
Unlike the regular and basic plans, the mobile-only plan is limited to 480p resolution and cannot stream content on larger devices like TVs. Like Netflix’s basic plan, the mobile-only plan only allows one concurrent stream at a time. Recently, Netflix updated its streaming codec for its Android app for less data consumption and around 20% improved compression efficiency.
