Bad Boys Meets Lord of the Rings?

Netflix has been releasing some pretty awesome original content as of late. They just released The Punisher last month and, just in time for the holiday season, they’re releasing another full-length movie starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton — Bright. While we’re used to seeing Smith donning a police badge, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill buddy cop film. Bright exists in an alternate reality where magical creatures live among us. Smith plays LAPD officer, Daryl Ward, who has been forced to partner up with an Orc, Nick Jakoby, played by Edgerton; setting up for some pretty interesting comedic banter and some pretty serious social commentary as well.

While on a routine patrol, the two stumble on to an elf, wielding a magic wand that in the wrong hands could spell disaster; definitely not your usual cop movie, huh? It’s best to watch the trailer to get psyched for it.

Tasked to bring this world and story to life is David Ayer; making this a bit of a reunion for Smith and Ayer who worked together in Suicide Squad as well.

Bright debuts on Netflix tomorrow (December 22) and, like most Netflix Original, is available to be viewed in 4K HDR with support for Dolby Atmos as well. If you’re rocking a solid setup to Netflix and Chill at home, this might be a good time to fire up all the gear for Bright.
