Our Favorite Trailers that Dropped During the Superbowl

Not a Sports Fan? That’s OK.

If you’re a big sports fan, then you might have pried yourself away at your desk to watch this year’s Superbowl. Don’t worry. No spoilers on who won in case you’ve been saving to watch the entire thing later tonight. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of American Football, there’s still plenty of reasons to tune in to one of the sports’ biggest events. The half-time show has always been a huge musical spectacle with Justin Timberlake performing this year, some pretty amazing commercials are saved for this spot, and several trailers for movies get shown for the very first time during the intermission.

If you haven’t had the chance to see the movie trailers, we decided to compile our favorite ones into this article so you don’t have to go searching through the interwebs. Without further ado, here are our favorite trailers that were shown during the Superbowl.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Any Star Wars fans in the house? We’ve been hearing about a standalone Han Solo movie in the works for quite some time now and the folks over at Disney and Lucasfilm have finally given a sneak peek at the movie that will be showing around the middle of the year. The movie stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke as Kira. This movie should tide us over until the release of Episode IX and the last season of Game of Thrones for that matter.

Avengers: Infinity War

No surprise here! Avengers: Infinity War also had a spot during the Superbowl. We’ve seen some of the footage in the 30 seconds already but there’s definitely more new footage seen in this teaser trailer. The movie is slated for a May 4 release and we can’t wait to watch what is probably the last installment of the Avengers movies and will be the conclusion for many of its characters. Of course, there’s still Black Panther to look forward to in a couple of days plus Ant-Man and the Wasp two months after so there’s still Marvel goodness to be had.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to watch another Mission: Impossible movie. Tom Cruise has done a lot of Mission: Impossible movies but has managed to keep the people hooked on the franchise in its recent outings and it looks like Ethan Hunt and the crew are at it again. Action, espionage, a ton of cool action sequences, plus comedy relief courtesy of Simon Pegg — all the familiar markings of the past two films but we still find ourselves looking forward to its release. Oh, you’ve also got the addition of Henry Cavill and Angela Bassett for this installment of the MI series.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Another franchise that has seen multiple movies is Jurrasic Park, which has been rebooted into Jurassic World and stars none other than Starlord himself — Chris Pratt. We’ve already seen the first trailer for this movie late last year and to keep the hype train chugging along, they got themselves a monster-sized spot during the Superbowl to show off the upcoming movie that seems to feature another hybrid dino that will tear the house down. The movie drops on June 22.

Red Sparrow

Hands up if you have a crush on Jennifer Lawrence! Based on a best-selling novel that was published in 2013 by ex-CIA operative, Jason Matthews, Red Sparrow is another spy thriller. The movie is about a female Russian operative who has been trained to seduce their marks and get the job done. We’re always up for a good spy movie and seeing Jennifer Lawrence up on the big screen is always a treat. Red Sparrow will be released on March 2, so the wait isn’t so bad.

There are other trailers that dropped, but these are just some of our favorite ones. If you want to contribute, you know what to do, hit that comment section up. If you want to go back to the tech side of things, click the links below:
